Information about SCC (VCA)
The Dutch Occupational Safety and Health Act obliges employers to see to the safety of third parties on company grounds. As such, clients may demand that company personnel hold the Basic Elements of Safety SCC diploma. They can further require supervisors to have obtained the Safety for Operational Supervisors diploma. Figures published by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) show that there is a pressing need to pay more attention to working safely. More than 150,000 working people are involved in industrial accidents every year. Knowledge of the various safety-related regulations is a precondition for working in a safe and responsible manner. You can prove that you have the necessary expertise by obtaining the SCC (VCA in Dutch) diploma.
The NIBHV (Dutch Institute for In-house Emergency Response) is recognised by ECABO (Centre of Expertise on Vocational Education, Training and the Labour Market) as a SCC examination centre and is authorised to issue SCC diplomas. There are two ways of taking the examination: either at local educational institutes or by participating in the walk-in examinations that are periodically organised in various places throughout the Netherlands.
The NIBHV also publishes training materials for instructors and participants in its SCC training courses.
